Owner & Counselor
My name is Djuana King and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Consumer Science with a minor in Psychology and my Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lamar University.
I have worked in the mental health field for over 10 years in a variety of settings. I have experience working with children, adults, and families in homeless and domestic violence shelters, foster care, schools, and in mental health agencies. Working in these different settings has afforded me the opportunity to pick up and learn a diverse skill set to guide my clients in the best direction possible. I enjoy using solution focused and CBT in my sessions however, I tailor my sessions for my client’s needs.
I would describe my style of counseling as “laid back.” I don’t like to take myself too seriously and I’ve learned the more relaxed I am the more comfortable my clients are with me.

My focus is to help individuals heal, energize, and become aware of their inner strengths. Also to guide individuals and families to change patterns and routines, discover positive and productive communication techniques, and strengthen relationships. Therefore, increasing success at home, school, work, and in their community. I achieve this by providing a neutral safe space, listening to your concerns, and customizing a treatment plan.
I promise to be there for you every step of your journey. My ultimate goal in counseling is to give my clients hope and the tools to work towards healing what has been negatively affected by the circumstances of life. I want to help you grow from your struggles, heal from your pain, and move forward to where you want to be in your life.
